Its westernmost portion runs along the Alberta — British Columbia border and is part of the Canadian Rockies. Its northern portion is located in Peace Country while most of the south and interior is boreal forest. Numerous lakes are located in Greenview. Some of the most notable are Sturgeon, Musreau, and Swan Lake as well as a portion of Snipe Lake in its northeastern most corner. The Municipal district encompasses three other municipalities: It, in turn, is immediately neighboured by six municipalities, Wilmore Wilderness Park in the southwest and British Columbia.

Burns Show more https: The corridor concept has had an important bearing on discussions of zoogeography and paved the way for hypotheses about the recolonization of North America by mammalian species from Asia. Alberta—situated along the eastern slopes of the western Cordillera adjacent to the northern Great Plains—was long considered the ideal route for Late Pleistocene migrations into the North American heartland.
Yet, a temporal hiatus in the large suite of bone and wood dates from central Alberta indicates that no corridor existed during the full-glacial, from about 22 to 12 BP. DNA, isotopic, and other studies of equids, bovids, cervids, ursids, mustelids and others confirm that animals flowed through Alberta, except during full glaciation. The mid-Wisconsinan fauna in Alberta indicates movements from both south and north, reflecting the absence of ice sheets during that interval.
Migrations during the Last Glacial Maximum were precluded because the Cordilleran and Laurentide ice masses had coalesced to close the corridor.

Edmonton man keeps unopened Christmas gift from girl who dumped him 47 years ago Search for teenage sweetheart led to Kelowna, B. Dec 24, Dec 24, 4: Facebook Related Stories How an Ontario woman reunited with a letter she wrote to Santa 50 years ago As Canadians tear open their presents this Christmas morning, there’s one dog-eared gift that an Edmonton man won’t be opening that came from an old girlfriend who dumped him 47 years ago.
Then his girlfriend — his first serious girlfriend — broke up with him. I had a long walk home and I was all upset and angry, and all the things you feel when somebody breaks up with you,” Pearce recounted. After my family opened their gifts at Christmas, there was still one Christmas gift left and it’s the gift this girl Vicki had given me. I told my family I’m never going to open that present.
Wife puts her foot down Pearce says Vicki’s younger sister approached him a few years after the breakup and gave him some contact numbers, saying Vicki wanted to see him again. He said he saw his old flame a couple of times but they realized they weren’t interested in dating again, and soon after they lost touch. For years, Pearce continued placing the present under the tree, even after he got married and had children.
His kids kept asking him if they could open it, but Pearce refused. Eventually, his wife put her foot down and said it wasn’t welcome under the tree anymore. Now, he just pulls out the old gift, which is wrapped in shiny blue paper that’s fading, and just looks at it before putting it away again.

Marriage Separation in Canada Are you considering separating from your spouse? If so, below are some important facts and information regarding separations in Canada. We will clarify a few common misconceptions about separations and then help you to understand exactly what a Separation Agreement is and what it needs to cover. In fact, you can remain indefinitely separated from your spouse without ever filing for divorce.
The only legal reason to obtain a divorce is if one partner wishes to remarry. In order to file for divorce in Canada you must first complete a full one year separation period. The only exception to this rule is if your divorce is filed under the grounds of adultery or cruelty. However, if you are using separation as grounds for your divorce, then you must be separated from your spouse for a minimum of one full year.
You can begin the application process for divorce the day that you are separate, but the courts will not grant you your divorce until the full year has passed. If during this one year separation period you and your spouse get back together, this reconciliation will not affect your one year separation period unless you are back together for a period, or multiple periods, equaling more than 90 days.
The purpose of this law is to allow couples a chance to try and work on repairing their marriage, without delaying a divorce in the event that their attempts are not successful.
